"I Can" Statements That Are Addressed in Quarter 1:
READING HOMEWORK: You can help your child at home by reading together every day! This can be someone reading to your child, your child reading to someone, or a combination of the two. Reading for 15-20 minutes is ideal, but even 5 minutes is better than nothing. Talking about the pictures and making predictions can be helpful when reading together. This is also a good time to look for sight words and point out some of the letters that we are learning about. Let your child help you read simple CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words. You can also help your child practice writing short sentences and reading sight words. Thank you for turning in September reading calendars. Our October reading calendars have been sent home! Color a picture everyday that you read 15-20 minutes a night. Please turn in your calendar at the end of September for a prize! |
